The active ingredient, policosanol, is a very early molecule in evolutionary terms, so it is perhaps not surprising that the body welcomes it so readily. And people have apparently been using it for a number of forms of healing without recognizing it. Raghu has said that the outer skin of the coconut (not the shell) has been used to heal burns rapidly. He also said that the Vietnamese during the Vietnam war, if they were wounded, dipped their hands in unrefined rice flour and rubbed it on the wound and it healed quickly. Both are reportedly examples of policosanol at work. And please note that it requires this nanoparticle form of policosanol to exhibit the results reported overseas.
